A Journalist Investigates Current Challenges to Christianity

The Case for the Real Jesus Student Edition

There’s proof a man named Jesus of Nazareth once walked the earth, but opinions on exactly who he was can vary widely. Was he really the Son of God, or was he a nice guy who did some positive things on earth, or was he possibly an unstable man? And how can you know for sure what is true and what is false when it comes to what you’ve read or been told? Lee Strobel decided to investigate the real, historical Jesus and gather irrefutable evidence on everything connected to him so you can discover the biblical truth for yourself. A great prophet. A rebel. The Messiah. A crazy lunatic. Someone who never existed at all. All of these phrases describe different people’s views of Jesus, and various ancient documents have been discovered and various books have been written by scholars that seem to support each version. Not to mention all the arguments that say the Bible can’t be trusted as a reliable source of information on Jesus. So what are you supposed to believe—and why? Lee Strobel wanted the provable, undeniable truth, so he decided to return to the investigation he began in The Case for Christ and explore a variety of new angles to find out once and for all who the real Jesus was. Behold the Real Jesus

Behold the Real Jesus

Was Jesus like us, or was he different in his humanity? The righteousness of God being revealed in relation to mankind’s dominion in the earthly realm is explained in pre- and post-glorification of Jesus’ Person and Work. This simple but profound revelation of Jesus reveals the love of God toward mankind as God revealed Himself in a body of flesh for our redemption, sanctification, and ultimately glorification. This is timely truth as Jesus is the light that shines more and more unto the perfect day, when we shall see Him as He is; all believers coming unto the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man. Behold the Real Jesus proclaims truths as to the semantics of Jesus Christ before and after glorification. How the Word was made flesh as the Son of God is given in detail with scriptural foundation proving who Jesus is, was, and is to come. The novice as well as the mature believer will benefit from this book. If you are tired of reading ancient theologians’ manuscripts and reading commentaries pertaining to Jesus, and you’re ready for a fresh enlightening revelation of God, then Behold the Real Jesus is for you.

The Real Jesus Myth

A (fairly) Orthodox Look at the Christian Faith

The Real Jesus Myth

The Real Jesus Myth is what happens when a retired (but still cynical) journalist, who is also a retired (but still cynical) Anglican priest, decides to answer some of the questions tossed at him about the Christian Faith. Many people don’t know enough about the nuts and bolts of Christian belief – “doctrine” to use an unpopular word. This isn’t their fault: most mainline churches put “social justice” issues front and centre while doctrine, evangelism and apologetics gather dust in the rear pews. This may be one reason so many mainline churches are scrambling to stay afloat and, if so, why it’s long past time to re-emphasize the fundamentals of the Faith. The Real Jesus Myth is a (fairly) orthodox look at the Christian Faith centered around the Nicene Creed and bookended by comments on everything from why the bible is God’s word to why orthodoxy isn’t as scary as you may think. It is written both for Christians and for the curious non-Christian but one caution – the author is an ex columnist and police reporter, not a theologian, so don’t expect this to read like a textbook.

Finding the Real Jesus

A Guide for Curious Christians and Skeptical Seekers

Finding the Real Jesus

Who was Jesus —really? For centuries, the Christian church has taught that Jesus is the divine Son of God, crucified for sinners and raised from the dead. In recent years, however, that picture of Jesus has come under widely publicized attack from sources ranging from critical scholars to Internet pundits to popular historians and others. The new portraits of Jesus seem persuasive. You can’t help but wonder ... Did Christianity merely copy its beliefs from earlier mythology? Did the church suppress alternate gospels? Did Jesus never die on the cross or rise from the dead for sinners? Is the New Testament hopelessly riddled with errors? New York Times bestselling author Lee Strobel helps you separate truth from media hype, sound scholarship from bias, and fact from speculation. Digging below the surface, this book provides credible, informed answers to today’s most pressing questions about Jesus.

Understanding the Real Jesus

Understanding the Real Jesus

Jesus proclaimed God's imminent universal kingdom. His Jewish followers were faithful to him. Paul misunderstood Jesus and subverted his message, but succeeded when the truth was accidentally lost in history.

Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up!

A Skeptical Believer’S Guide to the Reality of Christ

Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up!

In a world where the God hypothesis is no longer necessary, todays Church may offer skeptical Seekers a Jesus Story that no longer connects with their lives. Nevertheless, their honest questions are to be valued and honored by the Church because they keep us honest and make us rethink the relevancy of our faith. Todays world is asking if there is any Reality to the Jesus about whom we speak, and if so, would he please stand up. It is my contention that faith in God does not depend upon proof of his existence as much as what that Gods attitude is toward us. While the Good News proposed by Christian Faith is that Gods attitude was definitively displayed in Jesus, I am suggesting that our Jesus Story must take the Apostle Pauls understanding of Reconciliation seriously. God, too, has to pay the price of Sin. He is part of the problem of our alienation and neither we, nor God, can escape its consequences. Therein lies the POWER, I believe, of the Jesus Story to hold the attention of todays Seeker. Jesus not only died for our sins, he died for Gods Sin as well! Our Sin, was our disobedience. Gods Sin was his Ignorance. It is Paul who, getting his message directly from the Risen Christ, sees this most clearly. Paul wants us to understand that God was in Christs life and death reconciling the world to himself not just forgiving us. Unlike the Jesus Story told by todays Church, Paul sees Gods Grace as much more amazing than mere payment for our peccadilloes.
